In the 1960’s Omega introduced the first De Ville models as part of the Seamaster collection, but in 1967 the De Ville was relaunched as a separate collection of dress watches. This watch is a refined and elegant example of an Omega De Ville from this era. The amazing linen textured dial is made of 18 carat solid gold. The dial is signed “18K” on the back and the “OM swiss made OM” indicates that the dial is made from solid gold. “OM” stands for “Or Masif” in French, which translates to “solid gold”. Very few watches were made with solid gold dials, making this a rare specimen. The dial is encased in a very slim & elegant 18 carat solid gold case.
The watch is in very good condition. The case is in very good, unpolished condition and shows some signs of wear. The crown is original. The dial is original and is very good condition, with minor imperfections like a very small discolouration between the 2 and 3 o’clock marker. The hands are original and in very good condition. The crystal is a brand new aftermarket replacement (without Omega logo in the center). The watch has been fully serviced, which means the movement has been completely dissembled and all parts have been cleaned and checked for wear. After cleaning, the movement has been assembled, lubricated and adjustments were made to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
