The Omega Seamaster De Ville was introduced in the early 1960’s, combining the elegance of the De Ville models and the water resistance of the Seamaster models. Water resistance was still quite uncommon for dresswatches and the Seamaster De Ville was Omega’s answer to the rising demand for more water resistant dresswatches. To eliminate the risk of water entering the case, the case has no caseback. The movement and dial are inserted from the front of the watch and the case is sealed by the crystal. Although being a Seamaster, the Seamaster De Ville is a true dress watch, with a slim and elegant case, domed silver sunburst dial and stick markers and hands. The caseback features the seahorse logo, engraved on all Omega Seamaster models since the 1950’s.
This watch is in good condition. The case is unpolished in the past and shows signs of wear. The caseback shows signs of wear caused by a woven strap. The dial is in very good condition with very few signs of aging and certainly no scratches or damage caused by moisture. The hands are original and in very good condition. The crystal is a brand new high quality generic replacement (no Omega logo in the middle). The crown has been replaced at some point and is not original. The watch has been fully serviced, which means the movement has been completely dissembled and all parts have been cleaned and checked for wear. After cleaning, the movement has been assembled, lubricated and adjustments were made to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
