The Omega Seamaster De Ville was introduced in the early 1960’s, combining the elegance of the De Ville models and the water resistance of the Seamaster models. Water resistance was still quite uncommon for dresswatches and the Seamaster De Ville was Omega’s answer to the rising demand for more water resistant dresswatches. To eliminate the risk of water entering the case, the case has no caseback. The movement and dial are inserted from the front of the watch and the case is sealed by the crystal. Although being a Seamaster, the Seamaster De Ville is a true dress watch, with a slim and elegant case, domed silver sunburst dial and stick market and hands. The caseback features the seahorse logo, engraved on all Omega Seamaster models since the 1950’s.
This watch is in very good condition. The case has been slightly polished in the past and shows light signs of wear. The dial is in very good condition with very few signs of aging and certainly no scratches or damage caused by moisture The crystal is original (Omega logo on the inside) and has been polished to remove all scratches. The crown is original with Omega logo and more importantly, the correct model for this watch. The watch has been fully serviced, which means the movement has been completely dissembled and all parts have been cleaned and checked for wear. After cleaning, the movement has been assembled, lubricated and adjustments were made to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
