Vacheron & Constantin is one of the most prestigious names in watchmaking and forms the “Holy Trinity of watchmaking” together with Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe. This pocket watch was made between 1905 and 1915 and shows that the reputation of the brand was build on many years of fine watchmaking. As can be expected from a brand like Vacheron & Constantin, all movement parts are all finished to a very high standard. Take a look at the spokes of the gears, or the pallet fork, and you will notice that all edges have been beveled and finished to a very high level. The dial is made from glass enamel and the numerals have been hand painted on te dial. This pocket watch is perfect for that very special occasions or makes a wonderful addition to any collection.
The watch is in good condition and shows signs of use, as can be expected of a watch over 100 years old. The engraving on the caseback is partially worn away and the case has some small dents. The dial is in very good condition, without obvious damage such as cracks or missing chips. Please note that there is a small chip around the edge of the dial, which is not visible when the case is closed. Furthermore, there are some very small scratches, like at the 11 o’clock numeral. The gold plating of the dust cover is partially missing. The movement is in very good condition without signs of moisture damage. The watch has been fully serviced, which means the movement has been completely dissembled and all parts have been cleaned and checked for wear. After cleaning, the movement has been assembled, lubricated and adjustments were made to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
