The Omega Constellation was the first family of watches that only consisted of Certified Chronometer watches. The brand Omega was worldwide renown for the accuracy and quality of its watches and the Constellation collection was their flagship collection. Few other watches were such prestigious as the Omega Constellation and one would for sure have been very proud to wear a Constellation. The Omega Constellation C-case is one of the iconic designs made by Gerald Genta for Omega. It was meant as the successor of the famous & iconic Pie-Pan dog legged Constellations. Nonetheless, these C-case Constellations also became true icons in the Constellations history and they offer the same great movement and overall build quality as their predecessors
The champagne/silver colored dial has applied baton markers, applied Omega logo and Constellation star. The Omega cal. 564 movement is a true classic which was used in many Constellations until being replaced by the 10xx generation of movements. The caseback features a gold medallion of the observatory surrounded by 8 stars, representing Omega’s successes at chronometer trials held at the observatories of Geneva and Kew-Teddington.
What’s good to know is that gold capped cannot by any means be compared to gold filled watches. Gold capped cases haves thick layer of gold applied on a stainless steel case. Therefore, they offer the appearance of a solid gold watch at a substantially lower price point.
Condition
Dial: Original dial, overall good condition, has some dark spots (see pictures)
Case: good condition, slightly polished, shows signs of wear
Crown: original crown, part of the gold cap is missing
Crystal: original crystal (logo in the middle), good condition
Movement: Omega cal. 564 (quick set date) good condition, fully overhauled (12 months warranty)
Strap/Bracelet: brand new genuine leather strap, gold plated generic buckle (not from Omega)
