Description
The pontiac supercompressor is a very cool vintage diving watch, with a very wearable size of 38mm. All supercompressor cases, regardless of brand which used them, were manufactured by Ernest Piquerez SA. The patented supercompressor case has a special caseback, with spring loaded threaded ring. When the pressure increases, the caseback would be pushed tightly on the case and create higher pressure on the gasket. This increased the water resistance, but without water pressure the caseback would put less pressure on the gasket, giving it a longer lifespan. The inner bezel can be turned with the second crown, located at 10 o’clock.
Condition
Dial: very good condition
Case: good, with signs of wear, small scratches
Crown: original crowns, both signed with logo, winding can be ab bit stiff due to hardened crown gaskets
Crystal: acrylic crystal, no scratches
Movement: ETA2783, rotor signed “Pontiac”
Strap: brand new Hirsch Kent Artisan leather strap
